The titanium swarf is fed manually via a conveyor belt. A filling level sensor built into the shredder prevents its overfilling. If the machine is filled with swarf, the conveyor belt stops automatically and waits until the chips are processed and new material can be fed into the hopper again.
The base-plate of the shredder is set at an angle. Thus, the impurities slide directly to the impurity flap by gravity and can be discharged more efficiently. The shredded material then falls into a collecting container below the cutter bar.
