It has been clear for years that we humans are being too wasteful with our planet's resources. To make this clear, scientists from the Global Footprint Network calculate Earth Overshoot Day every year. This is the day on which we have used up all the resources that the earth can produce in a year. The earlier the day, the more dramatic the situation. Today, on 28.07.2022 - as early as never before - it is that time again. With its current lifestyle, humanity needs 1.75 Earths per year. In other words, we are using 75% more resources than the Earth can replicate.
The motto is #MoveTheDate.
We all can and must save more resources, both as individuals but also in business and industry. Above all, recycling resources is more important than ever and contributes significantly to reducing our ecological footprint.
